Stashbuster quilt top done

I'm home alone, Joe's working this weekend so I thought I'd just do what I like to do. So yep, you guessed it I've spent the last two days in the barn working on the Stash-buster quilt I started just over a week ago. Lot's of cutting out from my fabric scraps and lots of piecing together.
The plan was to make a quilt just using op shopped fabric etc and embroidered doilies and that's what I have achieved, apart from just a few shop bought pieces.
I've got one hell of a backache from two days of bending over so I'll laze about on the sofa tomorrow and read my discussion group book.
I can't do much else with it until I go and buy some batting/wadding, my supply has run out. I'll probably hand quilt it again and I'll bind the edge with a darker colour.

Anyway here it is before I added the borders...

I reused the crocheted edging from the doilies on the plain squares

and again because I can't get enough of it!

And now with the border added

Lilac lace from my stash adds a pretty border.

That's the ta-dah moment out of the way and UFO number two almost done.
So has anyone taken up my challenge? How ya doing?

That's me, see ya♥♥
Have a great weekend however you choose to spend it.

  2. I suppose really it doesn't properly qualify as a UFO as it's only a week old lol But I'm thinking I should show my UFO basket that might gee me up and get me finishing them! :D

  7. No way... I can't believe its nearly finished! Ok so mine has just celebrated its first birthday and remains in pieces on the floor. I have finished the shawl though; now that was worked with lightening speed in two weeks flat. I'm procrastinating here as we have just bought a tree and it needs a big hole digging and I'm tired out from walking up a hill this morning.
