Christmas Day & the Boxing day races at Pirongia

Christmas Eve dinner
The most delicious ham from Lifestlye meats in Dinsdale, Hamilton

With mashed potatoes, asparagus and white sauce

 Christmas Day
Breakfast

 Ham, eggs & pork pie

We always try to get to the beach on Christmas day, the day started off quite promising
Although it was quite changeable, there had been some flash flooding in Raglan but it didn't stop us heading there anyway. The sea was pretty messy and Joe & Michael decided that a Christmas day swim was off the cards this year.

 Monster from the deep!

We didn't get too long on the beach before we heard thunder rumbling around so we headed on home
Santa had been

 Christmas day dinner
Salmon with a creme fraiche/horseradish sauce on crostini
 Main course consisted of;
Curried rice salad
 Nutty slaw
 Festive salad

Roast lamb with a Moroccan spice rub, turkey roll with cranberry stuffing
 More ham
 Deliciousness on a plate
A couple of extras for dinner, Andrew and Cass, there's always plenty
  My best pavlova yet

 Time for games, Connect 4
Time for a book and a snooze
 Dominoes

And the most hysterical game called Speak out, we didn't actually play properly, we just had a bloody good laugh, our sides were aching from laughing so much

 It was a great day
Boxing day races at Pirongia
All of us except Joe, were Pirongia's Boxing day races virgins
What a fantastic day, I think this will have to be a regular thing.

It's Tash's birthday on Boxing day, what a great place to spend it

 Then came the magnificent Clydesdales

A race official and his beautiful horse

Then it was time for the humans race, there were 3 races in all, we watched 2 as we were getting pretty hot by then. Personally I thinks it's cruel to make poor humans to race in such hot conditions, especially for our own entertainment!! 😂😂

When all the races were done, first race 11.30, last horse race 3.20
it was time for a game of croquet!

I hope you've all been having a great Christmas
