Thanks for all of your kind wishes and comments on the previous post, they are much appreciated.
The calf is still with us, but has still not fed from mum, well there are no signs that he has. He had got up at some point in the night as he wasn't where we left him.
We've moved them to the bays by the barn to ensure he stays dry. He did get up on his own again but he doesn't seem to have a clue where the milk bar is. So he's had some more milk and an injection that should give him a boost. I think I need to step back now and just leave him and mum alone as poor Isobel is getting a bit stressed by it all and getting in the way sometimes does more harm than good. Joe didn't go into work forst thing so he was able to help me. Calves aren't as easy to deal to as wee kid goats are.
I'll keep you updated.
aw poor wee munchkin, and he looks such a cutie. Here's hoping he does what he's supposed to, fingers crossed xx
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed here, too. Hope isobel and her baby get themselves sorted!!
ReplyDeleteKeeping good thoughts for the little guy.

That's a hopeful update. I'm glad to read he's gotten his feet under him.
ReplyDeleteS0 sorry to hear about your calf's troubles - it sounds like you're doing the very best by the poor little guy. Here's hoping he's on his feet and jumping around in no time!
