Thursday Craft

Not only do I have stiTchWits on Tuesdays I am lucky enough to meet up with some of the clever ladies in my road. They are all seasoned quilters and it was them that saw me through my first ever quilt. We  do other crafts too which is really cool, recently we had the blanket dyeing course, so it is varied and always interesting. But most importantly I enjoy the social side of it, I've made some lovely friends through it. It's comforting to know too that in a time of need they are only a phone call away.

Before I show you what I've been working through on a Thursday I'll show you what I made on Tuesday, the day of 'The Grand Opening', I thought you might have seen enough in that post and saved show and tell for today. I really must remember to take photos of Dawns work too.

There are still a few finishing touches to make to our bedroom one of them was to make some scatter cushions for our bed, it's nice to have a big cushion behind your back if you're sitting up in bed watching TV. I had some extra fabric that matched the curtains and made these...

I had a couple of slightly smaller cushion inners and lots of the headboard fabric and made two of these..

I still have plenty of unfinished projects on the go, some I have yet to start and I never seem to get my self organised enough to take then with me to Thursday craft. I must make more of an effort, it's easier to just grab my basket of crocheting and go....I've crocheted a  few different things in the past but I had never attempted Granny squares which are usually the things people learn to do when they learn to crochet! Oh no, not me! I start with the hard stuff and work back!
It will just be a small blanket when it's done as I'm getting to the stage where I'm a little fed up with it now, it certainly wont be as big as my hexagon blanket
...a sneak preview..

..and finally I just wanted to share Jan's quilt, isn't it just beautiful?

That's all for today, see ya next time ♥
