A feast fit for a King!

Guess what I'm going to be doing tomorrow??

Yup! I'll be bitchen in the kitchen!
Courgettes & shitload of cucumbers

We picked our teeny crop of peas today. They did get planted as an after thought and from old pea seeds  I had. Not the best crop but something is better than nothing!

I bought the latest Food magazine from Countdown Supermarket and there was this little book attached as a freebie, full of lovely recipes all supposedly costing less than $15 to feed four.
I tried this recipe tonight, if you click on the photo to make it larger so you'll be able to read the recipe. If you can't then let me know and I'll type it out.

Chicken ready to go in the oven

I substituted asparagus with green beans. All the veg/lemon/thyme was from our garden.
The skin hadn't browned so I quickly pan fried it before serving

We gave it an 8/10, blooming delicious!  Washed down with a glass of home brew feijoa wine.

The weekend is upon us and apparently it's raining, we need it.

Wherever you are and whatever you're doing, have a great weekend.

I just think it is brilliant that you have so much gorgeous food from your garden. I never thought about this until now, but is the title of your blog named after the telly programme The Good life? I watched quite a few episodes of the good life over Christmas and love this programme. Keep up the good work! We are painting our bedroom "warm blue" this weekend. That's my attempt at being brave with colour... and the alien light fitting is coming down on Monday. Happy days xx
