Managed to get outside today...

...after being laid up with the worst bout of flu I've had in what must be 3 decades! I don't get flu, I rarely get colds either. But this year has been an exception, I had a cold not so long ago and now this. I could hardly move yesterday and ended up going back to bed for most of the day. I thought I might turn my lungs inside out with the coughing and today I feel like I've been kicked in the ribs. I am feeling better than yesterday which is good, I'm hoping that's the worst of it over with.
Yesterday being the first day of spring brought rain, today was much better, it was cloudy most of the day but the sun popped out regularly to say hello. In fact it looked so inviting I thought I would take a short walk to the mailbox, I took the camera as I thought there is bound to be springy things to see.

I have the goats separated into two groups the above 3 have come out of this side of winter a little on the light side. So they get a fair share of food they are in another paddock away from these three fatties!

We have blossom on the plum trees

The other day we got a trailer load of river stones to finish off the top of the wall  along the drive. This section didn't get finished last year and I think the lavender may have suffered for that,
the warmth from the stones may help them to grow better and match the rest on the other part of the wall

More blossom

Lilies around the pond

0I saw my first swallow today, not sure if he's early or not.

One good thing about being crook is that I've finally caught up with some blog reading, that was quite a mission I can tell you. It's always nice to see what others are doing.

That's it for today I'm off to pop more pills

see ya next time
