Fiji - Sunday 30th November - Day 8

Let's take a tiki tour, sorry lots of photos but you'll get to see a lot of the resort, the weather had been pretty good so far but today was by far the best and the reason for taking so many photos.

The pier to the romantic bure and you can see the exposed reef where the tide is out

Wicked Walu where we dined that evening
Our room was on the first floor, there was a flight of stairs that led down to this path, to the left was the way to the spa, where we had our massage.
Whilst I took photos Joe read by the pool
 His view
There was no shortage of hammocks, they were everywhere, I didn't try them out, too scared I'd make an arse of myself trying to get out of it!

Those stepping stones are the only access to the spa, I am pleased to say I didn't fall in.
Keep on walking along the path and this is the view of the rooms that overlook the gardens
Set just on the edge of the resort an independent business offering more activities
This was some kind of events area

Set beneath the pergola was the Italian restaurant by evening and breakfast in the morning
 Another view further along

 The family pool
Ice cream parlour
With New Zealand ice cream no less

The stretch of beach beyond the pier to the Wicked Walu
Looking back at the resort from the pier with the romantic bure in the distance to the right
At the beginning of the pier another eating area near the family pool and kayaks housed below
How lovely to have a massage with that all around you
Just a few of the many fishes we saw

Before we went out that evening we opened our bottle of bubbly that was waiting for us when we arrived

Just had to take a photo of this fella, every morning and every evening the cushions to the sun beds are wheeled out and back in again, and pretty much every evening that big stack of cushions tipped off on the floor! I may have learned some Fijian profanities.
Views from the balcony

Time to eat at the Wicked Walu

When we arrived we were given some Kava, I can't really describe the flavour other than it's rather like getting a gobful of dirty puddle water when you've fallen flat on your face  in one! The effects of drinking it however was quite startling as I couldn't feel my face for a while. It's a bit like a trip to the dentist but without the bill!
Right that's it from me today, just two more days to go, I'll leave you with our evening and the stunning sunset that made a perfect end to a perfect day. See you tomorrow.

The photo is a bit blurry but so was I by then!

  1. Such beautiful pics! Our daughter recently did a 12 day cruise to Fiji, New Cal and Noumea. Your photos really have whet my appetite to go there. Thanks for sharing.
