Didn't seem much like summer today

It was a bit like this today....

I will not complain about the rain though because the garden and the paddocks needed it and incidentally so did one of the waters tanks! I watered the greenhouse yesterday and then forgot to turn the hose off! Oops! And when your water supply is stored in tanks that collect rainwater from the roofs you really don't want to be wasting it. Hopefully after all of the rain we've had today it will have topped back up again, we suspect that one tank had a slow and steady leak so Joe is going to look into that possibility.

The rain didn't stop Joe working outside this morning, more news on that very soon but for now you will have to wait, it did stop me from going out and taking photos in the garden. I do have a couple from last night of the days harvest, everything seems a bit slow this year but I'll take it as it comes...

Lettuce, tomatoes, spring onion, radish, capsicums, aubergine, basil and potatoes freshly dug from the garden

 ...which all made for a rather nice salad. All but the steak and melon came from the garden

Also this week we finished off the leftovers

Turkey and ham pie

Salad made of raw broccoli, a handful of dried cranberries and slithered almonds with a garlic aioli mayonnaise. Blimmin' delicious it is too.
