Progressing nicely..............

They were both hard at it again today although they both started to get a bit hot and frazzled in the heat of the sun so work stopped for a couple of hours for a siesta, then it was all go again.

The concrete was set good and hard and so the supporting pieces of wood were removed first thing.

The was some extra cement left when the post holes were filled, so the greenhouse got a nice path
...and there was enough for a small section of path in the top veggie garden too

All the bearers were placed on top of the posts

Stringer boards went on one side of the house

Two knackered blokes who could only sit as they BBQ'd

They managed to get some joists up as well, now you can get more of an idea of the area. It's going to be huge, plenty of room for a bit table and lots of Alfresco meals.

The stringer boards have been coach bolted to the house, the rest at this stage is being held together with nails. We have no end of brackets and bolts to anchor it altogether, Joe's job I believe.

Tonight's BBQ

This all happened on Wednesday the 6th but I see it's gone midnight and so when I click 'publish' it's going to show up as the 7th. I should have done this first then watched a movie. Ah well, never mind.

******************

I have two extra photos for you, first is of the 3 baby hogs which I dropped off at a foster carers home on Tuesday. They are in good hands.
And today in the garden I saw this big bumble bee on the globe artichoke flower heads

See ya

  4. The deck is going to be amazing! It's snowing like crazy here so it's really weird to see how beautiful the weather is on the other side of the world.
