Since my last post, there was some progress on the downstairs renovations, we had an engagement announcement and visitors from the UK! So as you can imagine it's been pretty full on. Our friends are now back in the UK. They left the UK on the 16th December last year, so they're in for a shock, I think, going back to work. It was lovely to have them here. I've been doing thing with plums, nothing illegal, just preserving like a mad woman. I'll come back, I promise, and share all that soon.
In the meantime, however, I will share with you what me and the City Sue got up to today, yep, we had a Suesday! Rare as hens teeth, like blog posts lately!
So, I was woken up by Joe with a cup of tea, (boy do I seem to have problems waking up lately, too many late nights I reckon) at silly o'clock. As tempting as it was to just roll over and go back to sleep, I sat up and drank my tea with the dogs keeping me company. I knew that if I backed out of today that Sue would probably have me guts for garters, so by 9am I was on my way.
Sue had intended to take a complete photographic log of our outing but we soon forgot all about that! Oops! So what did I find............
Top $6.99
Not a good picture, it's got a halter neck style top, it looks great on.
This glass dome and board was $6.99, brand new.
It wasn't staying in the shop for that price I can tell you.
6 china tea plates, $6 total.
I think I have a matching tea cup.....
just checked, similar but not the same, doesn't matter though.
Two glass shades $4 pair, jar 50c
Cute wee stool, $2. There were 2, Sue has the other.
Shoes, comfy, nearly new we reckon, $7
Books, of course there are...ranging from $1 - $3
Set of 6 Kiwiana table mats, $6
So not a bad haul for the first time out in 2017.
Okay, so now my wine glass is empty and needs topping up, I'll leave it there for now.
I'll be back soon, honest...and in this year too!
I will just leave you with this, Sue posted this on my Facebook page.
True story
....and on that note I will sign off and wish you all a very happy weekend
PS There's been quite a lot of this going on
I fainted!! You actually did blog!!

DeleteGood to see you back, what a lovely haul of goodies.....mine are going the other way, decluttering BIG time, started at the front of the house and worked my way to the back, I was on a roll ! Pity it was in a heatwave and had to knit for 2 days to recover.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the latest renos.

ReplyDeleteHello chook! So when are ya coming to Hamilton for an Op Shop outing with the Sues? :D
DeleteSinging the post title as Pink Floyd of course!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time out on Suesday!
Of course :D Huge Pink Floyd fan here :D
DeleteSo good to see a new post from you Sue. Looks like you got some great buys on your day out with Sue. Is the engagement Michael and Tash?! I've been reading another New Zealand blog-Diet Coke Rocks-she lives in Hamilton. You might find it interesting. Hope you get back in the swing of blogging again, love to read about what you've been up to.
ReplyDeleteHi Janice. Thanks chook. It is Michaela & Tash yes! ;) I'll check out the blog you mentioned.
DeleteHi Sue, nice to hear from you. I see Janice put you onto me.
ReplyDeleteScore on the Op Shop purchases, I'm trying to stay away from Op Shops! I used to work in one in Auckland and couldn't stop BUYING SHIT!
Since moving, I've decluttered and don't want to start the madness again! It would be neat to meet up with a fellow blogger, even though you haven't blogged much lately. I blog every day, usually totally boring stuff.
We live in Cambridge, so not that far away from Whatawhata.
Hi Chris, yes it was Janice. :D A meet up sounds like fun. Check out the other Sues blog, You can call me Sue, although she's a seasoned Op Shopper, so be warned :D As for the lack of blogging, I aim to remedy that :D
