A bugs life


I was sitting out on the deck this afternoon having a coffee and enjoying the view and I noticed this little fella, I have no idea what he was. If anyone does then let me know by leaving a comment, thanks

    It could be a type of weta, I will have to hunt out my NZ insects book! But I have no idead where it is!

    your wee bug looks like it may be a variegated longhorn beetle, a native found in forest on both main NZ islands, on and in dead atrees.Also called a tawa longhorn. cheers, scratty
