On Thursday 22nd of May at 10am UK time, my long time friend Sharon will take her final journey. Her family and friends will say their goodbyes, we can't be there but we will be thinking of her and her family here in NZ. My mum, dad & sister will be there and friends too, thank you for being there when we can't. I really don't have many words to say so I've gone through some photos and I'll share them here, at the end is a poem, I think that says it all.
School days
Me, Sharon, Eileen & Claire
I'm the only one still living in this photo
Special moments
My hen do
Our wedding day
Eileen's(not in photo) wedding day
Your family
Gemma's christening
Camping holidays
Fun times
The night I met Joe, man we were hot!
Our leaving do, before we came to NZ, the last time we saw you
Sweet dreams dear Sharon
On a day in May I was told
that you had died
It can’t be, it’s not true,
please tell me that they lied.
A friendship born in high
school, where friends are friends forever
And even living a world
apart, that bond it could not sever
Through thick and thin,
through marriages and all our children too
Memories of laughter and
great times we shared with you
New Zealand became our home
10 years ago this year
But all those memories I
have, will always be held so dear
I always had you in my heart
even though we hardly spoke
And so that chance has sadly
passed and now that heart is broke
So rest easy my dear friend
and I’ll raise a glass to you
Cheers to you, to Stan, Liam,
Gemma and all your family too.
“Death leaves a heartache
no one can heal;
Love leaves a memory no
one can steal”
Dear Stan, Liam & Gemma
and to all of Sharon’s family, know that we are thinking of you all every day.
We cannot be there in body but we are there in spirit, and we consumed a fair
amount of spirits over the years didn’t we?
Happy memories.
All of our love and thoughts
are with you
Sue, Joe & Michael Webber
New Zealand.
♥ I will miss your smiling face♥

ReplyDeleteYour poem is so beautiful, and so true to life. Thank you for sharing your memories and photos of your lovely friend Sharon. I have tears too now, and understand how loss feels. I will pray for you, your family, and Sharon's family. It feels so helpless to not be able to do anything to soothe the aching heart. God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've lost your dear friend. Distance makes it all the harder to bear, I imagine. Take care,
