I cooked some steak in the slow cooker with onions and some kohl rabi from the veg garden. Made a rich gravy, then using leftover puff pastry sheets from the day before, made a pie
And I still had some puff pastry left, so I smeared on some raspberry jam, added some thinly sliced apples, a handful of sultanas, a sprinkling of sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Rolled it up, brushed with egg, a few more sprinkles of brown sugar and cinnamon and whammed it in the oven. It was scoffed down with vanilla ice cream!
There's enough left for tonight's dinner too!
Oh boy they both look soooo good~!
ReplyDeleteOh they were Kimmie! I'm finding it hard to resist waiting until dinnertime! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks amazing. I will have to try steak and kohlrabi in the crockpot.
ReplyDeleteI am drooling. Seriously, there is a puddle.
ReplyDeleteDo ya want a tissue Mel?
ReplyDeleteK-Koira, I find it's a good substitute for turnip which, I think, give a nice flavour to stews etc
OMG! Does that look good! I am going to have to try something like that!
