In the kitchen - Steak Pie and chips

I cooked some steak in the slow cooker with onions and some kohl rabi from the veg garden. Made a rich gravy, then using leftover puff pastry sheets from the day before, made a pie

Served with home made chips, cauliflower, cabbage and lashings of gorgeous gravy

And I still had some puff pastry left, so I smeared on some raspberry jam, added some thinly sliced apples, a handful of sultanas, a sprinkling of sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Rolled it up, brushed with egg, a few more sprinkles of brown sugar and cinnamon and whammed it in the oven. It was scoffed down with vanilla ice cream!

There's enough left for tonight's dinner too!

  5. Do ya want a tissue Mel?

K-Koira, I find it's a good substitute for turnip which, I think, give a nice flavour to stews etc
